In Wayward Beyond you experience galaxy simulation on a grand scale with unique locations, cutthroat politics, power struggles, and a deep economy. You create, destroy, explore, trade, govern, survive, and battle to stake your claim among the stars of a wild galaxy.
Wayward Beyond is a space sandbox RPG about survival, exploration, creation, politics, economics, combat, and endless power struggles. You experience galaxy simulation unrestrained as you brave the greatest frontier known to man to colonize a newly discovered galaxy far from our own Milky Way. You can choose how you want to play, who you want to be, and where you want to go... There are no boundaries among the stars.
Wayward Beyond strives to be the ultimate space sandbox and simulator, featuring everything you might want in a single space game to immerse you into a virtual universe. As a player you can build your own structures and vehicles, traverse open space and planetary surfaces, form alliances or make enemies, wage war, make peace, create your own laws as a governor, break or enforce laws, become a merchant, and level skills. There is singleplayer, multiplayer, creative, and survival modes so you can choose how you want to experience the galaxy.
Explore the Stars
Become an explorer of a procedurally generated galaxy teeming with stars, planets, moons, asteroids, nebulae, comets, lost secrets, and remnants of the past. You can travel on foot, in ships, in rovers, go on space walks, or float away in space alone and stranded.
Play the Economy
Become a trader, playing the economy and earning a profit as you trade resources, ships, and other commodities between stations, shops, other traders, and players. By taking part in the economy you can pull the strings from behind the curtain playing a deciding role in the politics, wars, and success of systems and governments by affecting the flow of weapons, ammo, food, and other important supplies.
Engage In Politics
Become a politician, governor, leader, or nothing more than a figurehead. Each star system has it's own government with laws to be followed or broken. Some stars are lawless wild places, while others may be authoritarian tyrannies or anything in between. You can collect taxes, rule over systems or planets, create and change laws, and overthrow others to take their position or put your own figurehead in their place.
Pirate & Enforce
Steal goods and ships, take lives, and acquire riches as a pirate or become an enforcer, hunting pirates and protecting the laws of a star system or an entire faction. No matter what side of the law you choose to be on, you can be any shade of morality whether you become a scoundrel, mercenary, bounty hunter, smuggler, strict lawman, peaceful miner, or a ruthless pirate. With every star system having it's own laws and leadership you might be a law-abiding weapons trader in one system while in another you're considered a black-market smuggler.
Battle Enemies & Wage War
Engage in exciting combat with procedurally generated weaponry of many types such as lasers, rockets, rifles, bows, spears, and swords in various environments such as zero-g, planets, stations, and ships. Whether you choose to use sci-fi or archaic weaponry there is a place for you. Charge the battlefield with spear in hand waging tribal warfare on some distant icy planet, engage in deep-space dogfights, or stand at the bridge of the flagship of am armada ready to annihilate the enemies of your empire.
Build & Engineer
Engineer various systems on your ship or station to fine tune it's capabilities such as shields, radar, jammers, FTL drives, oxygen filters, targeting systems, and more. Create complicated defensive weapon grids, comfortable earth-like atmospheres on a deep-space luxury cruise ship, or design living quarters in a space-motel. You can build your ship of choice or the home of your dreams from the ground up, customize a ship that you've purchased or "Acquired" from less than savory actions, or purchase pre-made blueprints provided by AI or players. Whether you prefer to build on a voxel-by-voxel basis or not, and whether you prefer to build or engineer, there are options for every type of player.
Survive, customize, and Roleplay
With 35 skills and 6 attributes you can customize and personalize your character to be anything you want. Be a 5-star cook, a life-long scavenger, an expert navigator, the best gunsmith in the system, a silver-tongued business man, or a tribal survivalist. Survive by purchasing foods and drinks, becoming a farmer, scavenging on planets or mining icy asteroids. You can construct oxygen systems on ships and stations, wear space suits or none at all, and discover planets with breathable atmospheres.
Fully Configurable & Modding Support
With a fully configurable simulator and generator you can choose how realistic or fantastical you want the galaxy to be, and modify nearly every aspect of the game such as planets, stars, economics, and politics. The experience can be further customized and personalized by the community through extensive modding support, allowing users to create additional content or modifying existing content. Modify and add textures, models, planet types, star types, moons, items, and custom scripts.
